چکیده
Analysis of spatial and temporal changes long-term precipitation extreme distribution at a local scale is very important for the prevention mitigation water-related disasters. In present study, we have analyzed trend 116 years (1901–2016) index over Kosi River Basin (KRB), which one frequent flooding rivers India, using 0.25° × resolution gridded datasets obtained from Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), India. The non-parametric Mann–Kendall test together with Sen’s slope estimator was employed to determine magnitude time series. annual monsoon seasons revealed decreasing trends values ?1.88 ?0.408, respectively. For indices viz. R10 R20 days, northeastern southwest part basin can be observed, whereas, in case highest one-day (RX1 day), no clear found. information provided through this study useful policymakers may play an role flood management, runoff, understanding related hydrological process basin. This will contribute better potential risk changing rainfall patterns, especially events due climatic variations.

Extreme precipitation and extreme streamflow in the Dongjiang River Basin in southern China
Papers published in Hydrology and Earth System Sciences Discussions are under open-access review for the journal Hydrology and Earth System Sciences Abstract Extreme hydro-meteorological events have become the focus of more and more studies in the last decade. Due to the complexity of the spatial pattern of changes in precipitation processes, it is still hard to establish a clear view of how pr...
متن کاملRepresentation of Extreme Precipitation Events Leading to Opposite Climate Change Signals over the Congo Basin
We investigate the reasons for the opposite climate change signals in precipitation between the regional climate model REMO and its driving earth system model MPI-ESM over the greater Congo region. Three REMO simulations following three RCP scenarios (RCP 2.6, RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5) are conducted, and it is found that the opposite signals, with REMO showing a decrease and MPI-ESM an increase in t...
متن کاملIncreasing trend of extreme rain events over India in a warming environment.
Against a backdrop of rising global surface temperature, the stability of the Indian monsoon rainfall over the past century has been a puzzle. By using a daily rainfall data set, we show (i) significant rising trends in the frequency and the magnitude of extreme rain events and (ii) a significant decreasing trend in the frequency of moderate events over central India during the monsoon seasons ...
